CONFERENCE POSTPONEMENT TO 2021

Board of Directors are grateful for the patience and understanding from the community during this period of uncertainty.  We are officially announcing the postponement of the 50th International Conference on Environmental Systems to 11-15 July 2021, in Lisbon.   The final details of ICES 2021 will be confirmed in the Call for Papers, which will be published in September 2020.   We will continue to monitor the situation regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) throughout the remainder of 2020 and 2021. The safety and well-being of our authors, organizers and attendees is our highest priority and we sincerely hope that we will be back to normal without social distancing restrictions by July 2021.

 

As already communicated to existing participants, it is our desire to offer our authors the ability to publish their important research in order to honor the work performed by the authors and reviewers.  Therefore, we encourage the Authors to complete and publish their papers this year even though the conference is postponed and we will suspend the “No Podium, No Paper” policy for this year only.  Even though the paper will not be presented, we will publish it as part of the ICES 2020 Proceedings on the Texas Tech web site.  However, if you choose to publish your paper this year, you will not be able to present the same paper next year.   Therefore, if Authors would prefer to present their papers at next year’s conference, the paper will need to be withdrawn this year and re-submitted after the Call for Papers in the fall.

 

We hope that everyone is adjusting and coping to the new reality caused by this serious and devastating pandemic, and that you, your families, and friends remain healthy and continue to be safe!
